German Horse Center Challenge 2013 on Facebook Internationally successful top riders in the jury
German Horse Center has announced the jury for the 2nd international online dressage and show jumping event. For the style jumping tests: Toni Haßmann and Franz Schulze Schleithoff, for the dressage tests: Helen and Sebastian Langehanenberg.
For the 2nd time, riders of all levels and nations can enter four riding tests by online video submission to the German Horse Center Facebook page and view how other riders and horses will have completed the test in their countries.
The jury will assess every rider and provide personal feedback with training advice. The winners will also receive other great prizes, with a top quality saddle (a Roxane de Luxe with Biomex Protection), high quality double bridles and snaffle bridles from Stübben and lovely stable and competition blankets from euro-star on offer.
Jury Style Jumping Toni Haßmann
Show jumping rider – Pferdewirtschaftsmeister, 3-time winner of the Hamburg Derby. 37 years old. When he was just 16, Toni received the German Equestrian Association’s Golden Award for achieving 10 advanced class victories. And in 1995 he was European Champion in his age group. On his horse Collin, he was also victorious 3 times in succession in the Hamburg Derby in Germany, one of the most prestigious show jumping events in the world; only he and Brazilian rider Nelson Pessoa have so far achieved this feat. Toni still rides very successfully in national and international advanced class show jumping tests.
Franz Schulze Schleithoff
Show jumping rider – double Pferdewirtschaftsmeister, Riding and Breeding & Stable Management with distinction. 33 years old, specializes in young rider development. Franz is running a riding school and a competition stable. He is mostly training young horses which he successfully shows in show jumping events up to the advanced level. Franz has gained much of his training experience abroad. Among others, he is training students in the U.S.A., Taiwan, Costa Rica and the Czech Republic.
Jury Dressage
Helen Langehanenberg Dressage rider, Olympic silver medalist in the 2012 team dressage. 30 years old – student of Klaus Balkenhol.
Helen is one of the top dressage riders in Germany and has been a member of the German dressage A-squad since 2011. The equestrian dream team of Helen and the stallion Damon Hill was very successful in 2012, a year which included 2nd place at the World Cup Final in ‘s-
Hertogenbosch and victory at the German Championships in Balve, in both the Grand Prix Spécial and the Grand Prix Freestyle events. The real high point of the year was the Olympic Games in London, where a silver medal was won in the team dressage and 4th place achieved in the individual event. Both Helen and her husband Sebastian are renowned for their fine riding styles.
Sebastian Langehanenberg
Dressage rider, Pferdewirtschaftsmeister with distinction and trainer of Helen Langehanenberg. 32 years old, specializes in the classical training of dressage horses up to advanced and Grand Prix level. Sebastian has achieved many victories and placements in the most advanced classes and has a lot of experience from abroad. He is training clients in the U.S.A., Canada, England and Australia, among others. The goal is to have fun with the horse and share the experiences of a one of a kind online event. Participation and feedback is free.
How it works Everyone can participate: Competitive and leisure riders, clubs and school riders with horses of all breeds are allowed.
1. Riders can download the riding tests from www.facebook.com/germanhorsecenter
2. They will ride the tests on camera.
3. The participants will upload their video to YouTube and submit the link to the YouTube video, as well as details about the horse and rider, using the German Horse Center Facebook entry form.
4. Following the deadline for submitting videos, every rider will receive personalized feedback about his/her performance. And the winners will receive top quality prizes. The official event language is English. Riding tests will be available in German and English. Key dates for the Challenge 18 January 2013: The riding tests will be published and the Challenge officially begins. 24 February 2013 (24:00 midnight GMT+1): Deadline for submitting videos. From 4 March 2013: The jury will provide feedback to participants. From 12 March 2013: Notification of winners and other top placings.
