HORSES DANCED FOR CHARITY
RIDE 4 HOPE RAISED $4902.40 FOR ST. JUDE’S
Kunkletown, Pennsylvania, September 3, 2014: On Saturday, August 9th, horses and their riders competed in the Ride 4 Hope Musical Challenge to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The competition, held at Hidden Creek Equestrian Center, Kunkletown, PA, featured pairs of one, two, or four horses and riders performing to music. The riders were judged on how well they creatively combined required patterns and gaits with suitable music. This year, five teams and seven
individual riders took to the arena to compete and raise money. Judges scored each timed presentation according to the rules of the United States Dressage Federation, but in a departure from regular dressage competitions, spectators voted for their favorites. Each dollar donated to a team or rider equaled one point added to the score, and all funds were donated to St. Jude’s. This year’s total was $4902.40.
Now in its sixth year, the Ride for Hope has raised a total of $20,558.15
