Wellington, FL (March 19, 2013) – Sometimes even the top, world-class equestrians experience a setback during their shows, and when that happens, it provides an opportunity for many to put their best foot forward and rise above the difficulty and continue on. show earned him the Best Foot Forward Award presented by Draper Therapies®. With 109 Grand Prix wins to his name, Minikus was well into a winning season as he entered Week 9 of WEF. Then, he unfortunately took a bad spill in the ring riding his 10-year-old Oldenberg mare, Quality Girl (Quidam’s Rubin x Dobrock). Many riders would become discouraged and frustrated with a poor performance, however, when Draper Therapies caught up with Minikus the very next day, he was dressed and ready to ride with a smile on his face. He and Quality Girl ended up placing 8th in the $300,000 FEI World Cup Grand Prix CSI 5*, presented by The Bainbridge Companies, competing against 45 other top international Grand Prix riders. Draper Therapies was proud to present the Best Foot Forward Award to him for setting the bar of true horsemanship so high.

“I really want to thank Draper for recognizing the efforts people make at all levels of equestrian sport, because it’s not always easy!” Minikus commented about winning the award. Minikus is known for being one of the best sports on the show grounds, and is always seen with a smile on his face, whether he’s riding into the ribbons or not. “Draper Equine Therapy® wants to salute every horse and rider who works together in the pursuit of their dreams, whether that’s in or out of the show ring,” states Becky Shipps, Product Manager for Draper Therapies. The Best Foot Forward award is presented two times per week throughout the season and recognizes equestrians in a very unique way for simply bringing a positive spirit and attitude to the shows. “This award is something we felt responsible and honored to give out to people who possess a positive attitude,” says Shipps.
