Irene Neuwirth Named Sponsor of $100,000 WCHR West Coast Hunter Spectacular

Irene Neuwirth has been named a sponsor of the upcoming $100,000 WCHR West Coast Hunter Spectacular, set for Friday, March 17, 2023, during Desert Circuit IX. The winner of the class will be awarded a stunning custom piece of jewelry from Neuwirth’s world-class jewelry line.

Neuwirth, a renowned fine jewelry designer with boutiques in Los Angeles and New York, as well as an avid competitor at Desert International Horse Park (DIHP), will support the higher level of hunter competition at the facility by awarding a custom pet pendant to the winning rider.

“Getting back into riding and specifically the hunters, has changed my life in the best way,” Neuwirth remarked. “I’m so passionate about the sport and excited to have the winner adorned in my one-of-a-kind animal portrait pendant. I couldn’t think of a better way to merge my two favorite things!”

Each one-of-a-kind portrait is hand carved in quartz crystal, painted, and bezel set in 18K gold on Mother of Pearl or Abalone. Among recipients of these special pieces are Jennifer Aniston, Taylor Swift, and Brie Larson.

The upcoming edition of the $100,000 WCHR West Coast Hunter Spectacular is one of two held during the 2022-2023 season at DIHP and is one of the most prominent feature classes held throughout the season. Historically run during the final week of the circuit, hunter riders prepare all season to peak at this event, which invites the top 12 competitors to ride under the lights for the second round of competition.

As part of the USHJA’s elite World Championship Hunter Rider program, Week IX of Desert Circuit will be the final designated WCHR week, allowing hunter riders the opportunity to earn points towards year-end awards and qualifications for events such as the Capital Challenge Horse Show, where Neuwirth herself has taken top honors.
