Lake Placid Horse Shows to Host 2023 USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Regional Championship North
The Lake Placid Horse Shows Sponsored by Bainbridge Farms, LLC, and Presented by Sea Shore Stables, LLC, are honored to host the 2023 USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Regional Championship North when the shows return to the beautiful North Elba Showgrounds, June 27-July 9.
Located in the historic Olympic town of Lake Placid, New York, the annual Lake Placid Horse Shows (LPHS) offer two weeks of exciting equestrian competition in a setting no other horse show can match. The meticulously landscaped North Elba Showgrounds are surrounded by breathtaking views of the Adirondack Mountains.
The USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Program is designed to encourage the development of green horses and is open to horses of any age who are eligible to compete in Green Hunters 3’, 3’3”, 3’6” and 3’9”. Horses must be enrolled with the Program to participate in Green Hunter Stake classes, the regional championships held in six locations, and to be eligible for the Platinum Performance/USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Championship (August 15-17). “After a hugely successful year marking 2022 as one of our best horse shows, we are thrilled to host the USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Regional Championship North as part of the 2023 Lake Placid schedule,” said Philip Richter, Chairman of the Lake Placid Horse Show Association. “We have exciting things in the works to continue building on our legacy as the Best Two Weeks of a Horseman’s Summer, and we hope more people will join us in the best town on the horse show circuit.”
Celebrating 54 years of equestrian tradition this year, LPHS hosts competitions for riders of all levels and ages ranging from young children on polished ponies, to glistening hunters, to Olympic veterans aboard their grand prix mounts. Competition at the North Elba Showgrounds is held in four spectacular show rings – the Richard M. Feldman Grand Prix Field, the E.R. Mische Jumper Ring, the Main Hunter Ring, and Hunter Ring 2.
A USEF Heritage Competition, the LPHS shows are part of the World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) Awards Program and feature classes that are part of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series, North American League (NAL) and Washington International Horse Show (WIHS) series.
