Medium Tour Final for Poland’s Jacek Zagor

Medium Tour Final for Poland’s Jacek Zagor

Polish rider Jacek Zagor was victorious in the Medium Tour Final. Sandra Sysojeva won the CAVALIADA Dressage Tour competition.

The course designer of the Medium Tour class, for the prize of J.J. Darboven, under the patronage of Baborówko Equestrian Association, set up a very demanding and dynamic track. As always in this type of competition, it was the triple combination that was most influential, especially as there was only one stride between the fences, and that required a lot of flexibility from the horses. An additional difficulty was the location of this combination – very close to the VIP lounge, which could distract the horses. The time allowed also played its part. The jump-off itself, with eleven qualified pairs, had an interesting turnout. The course designer forced the riders to take risks from the very first turn and, in fact, the first two fences dealt the cards today. The winner – Jacek Zagor – admitted that he took a risk and it paid off.

– This is my first and I hope not the last success with this nine-year-old mare, there is still a whole future ahead of her in this sport and – as you can see – she has the speed that a horse needs for such classes,” said Jacek Zagor.

It was a great day for junior rider Julia Ganowska, bronze medalist of the Polish Championships with her experienced horse Number One 28, as they finished in third. This is a very interesting example of how CAVALIADA can shape riders’ careers. Just two years ago Julia Ganowska, already a multiple medalist in the Polish Championships and Cups in the pony category, won the CAVALIADA Future, and today this experience helps her compete in front of an audience of several thousand fans.
