Palm Equestrian Academy Sponsors Inaugural Western Dressage Stakes at AQHA World Show

In 2010 the American Quarter Horse Association recognized Dressage as an event where horses could earn points for their permanent performance records. Fast forward to 2020 and Western Dressage is now a recognized event by the AQHA.

In order to promote Dressage and Western Dressage, the two events will be featured as Stakes Classes at the 2020 Farnam AQHA World Show in Oklahoma City, OK November 20-21. It is a natural fit for Palm Equestrian Academy, led by Lynn Palm, to sponsor one of the events. This year it will be the Western Dressage Stakes Class.

Lynn Palm was the first competitor to earn the first AQHA point in Dressage in 2010 and followed suit with Western Dressage in 2020. In the last decade, Palm has successfully shown 13 American Quarter Horses to high honors including USDF/Adequan All Breeds Champions, USDF Regional Championship Qualifiers, AQHA Registers of Merit, Superiors and High Point Year End Champions. Currently, Palm is the only AQHA Open Exhibitor in the top 20 point earners competing solely in Dressage events.

While the training, showing and accolades are remarkable, the mission of Lynn Palm and Palm Equestrian Academy co-founder, instructor, trainer and coach, Cyril Pittion-Rossillon, is that of education. Leading riders and their horses through the training progression of the dressage levels is the basis of their teachings. Using the principles of dressage, riders can follow any discipline or event, competitive or otherwise with great success.
