Premier Equestrian Announces Athletex™ Footing – Where the Rubber Meets the Road to Victory Ribbons
Wellington, FL (October 19, 2012) – Premier Equestrian is proud to announce Athletex™ Footing, their latest and one of the most innovative and eco-friendly solutions for equestrian arena footing available. Athletex™ is made from recycled athletic shoes, and provides reduced shear, stable traction and durable cushioning to help set any horse on the road to victory ribbons. This very unique recycled product is made up of a mixture of rubber, providing cushion, as well as textile for stability.

Athletex™ is mixed with sand at one pound per square foot which is a ratio that gives the surface spring, cushion, and stability. Athletex™ is suitable to mix with a wide variety of sands and it will perform in course sand, fine sand or sand that falls in-between.
The recycling process produces two types of Athletex™; light and heavy. Athletex™ Light is made up mostly from the top part of the shoe which is woven and non-woven synthetic textiles. Athletex™ Heavy is mainly from the bottom of the shoe which is natural and synthetic rubber of various densities. Both Athletex Light and Athletex Heavy contain textile and rubber, with the difference being that the light blend has more textiles and the heavy blend has more rubber. “Whichever product you choose, Athletex™ Heavy or Athletex™ Light, or a combination of both, your equine athletes will be performing on the same materials as human athletes, and they will thank you for it!” assures Heidi Zorn, President of Premier Equestrian.
