Starwyn Farm’s International Equestrian Education Announces Gillian Higgins ‘Horses Inside Out’ Clinic at 2013 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival

Wellington, FL (February 1, 2013) – Danielle Goldstein and Starwyn Farm’s International Equestrian Education (IEE) courses are serious about sharing smart horse sense, so the Grand Prix rider and owner of the Wellington-based training facility has put the support of IEE behind one of today’s most respected clinicians when it comes to ‘clearly’ explaining equine physiology and biomechanics: Gillian Higgins.

IEE is offering free admission throughout the weekend to ‘Horses Inside Out’ with Gillian Higgins at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, FL, during the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival. Higgins will conduct daily live exhibits, using her popular painted live equine ‘canvases’ on Saturday, February 9; Sunday, February 10; and Monday, February 11; and will answer questions about horse performance during two informational luncheon sessions on Wednesday, February 13.

Saturday’s session will present a live exhibit of a painted horse in the PBIEC International Arena during the midway drag of the $83,000 Adequan Saturday Night Grand Prix. Be on the lookout for a ‘painted horse’ competing in the class!

At 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, watch a live horse be painted at a special booth located near rings 6/7 of PBIEC. Don’t miss the live demo just before the start of the 1.50 Suncast Competition in the International Arena, followed by a series of brief (10-15 minutes) talks back at the booth near rings 6/7.

From 9 a.m. until 12 noon on Monday, is a live horse painting presentation, followed by an applied biomechanics demonstration from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. This will take place during the Dressage Summit at the Global Dressage Stadium, and will feature an FEI dressage horse being painted and performing the dressage movements.

If three days of education and entertainment still leave horse lovers hungry for more, IEE will sponsor two informative luncheon sessions, 11 a.m. to 12 noon and 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday, February 13. Admission is free and lunch is included with the superb opportunity to learn more about equine anatomy and direct questions to Higgins. Among the topics addressed will be how to maintain your horse in top physiological condition, improve their performance, manage optimum muscular health, and how to reduce your equine athlete’s risk of injury.
