Summit Performance Starts USEF Convention on Right Stride
Louisville, KY (February 4, 2013) – A good breakfast is important to the start of a good day. Laura King, owner and founder of Summit Performance, sponsored a breakfast during the USEF Convention, January 16-19, in Louisville, KY, to underline the importance of overall health and wellness in the riding relationship. While breakfasts rarely feature dessert, Summit Performance offered an added treat to the fortifying repast with a raffle to win a set of the renowned author and health expert’s CDs.
Called the “secret weapon for the competitive dressage rider,” Laura King, CHt, NLP, Life Coach, Certified Hypnosis Instructor, has over 100 certifications in Hypnosis, Clinical Hypnosis, NLP, and Life Coaching, and is one of the most highly qualified instructors in the industry. “I use hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) not only for equestrians, but for golfers, students, and business professionals as well,” King describes. “Anyone who wants to improve their performance needs to have their brain trained for that excellence, and the way we train the brain is by getting to its center of power, the subconscious. This where habits, emotions and memories live. If you’re having difficulty with bad habits or negative memories, conscious efforts to correct them aren’t going to work long term.”
The raffle winner was Johnson and Wales University director of riding, Intercollegiate Dressage Association coach, and USDF ‘L’ judge, Crystal Taylor, who could not wait to share them with her riders: “I had been thinking about buying some or all of them so this was super. This will be so useful for my courses. I teach Foundations of Riding Theory, Methods of Riding Instruction I and II, and many riding courses. I also coach the Intercollegiate Dressage Team and we are looking forward to listening to the CDs to help competition performance, anxiety issues, confidence and positive energy.
“I have little very experience with NLP or hypnosis but have read articles on sports psychology and discuss it in my Instructor’s Course, and I have my team read articles on sports psychology to discuss the importance of positive self-talk and imaging, so this is perfect. It is important for all athletes to focus on a positive attitude and healthy self-image. I look forward to viewing the CDs and sharing them with my classes and team.”
King’s CDs for dressage riders include The Keys to Winning Dressage Series (Gaining Concentration and Memory, Peak Performance, and Freestyle Relaxation to Dance). She has also published four books on the subject of Hypnosis and NLP, including The Power to Win, has appeared on The Rachel Ray Show, and is a highly sought after speaker. Whether you want to overcome show ring nerves, work on your tempi timing, or master some elusive problem in your personal training, Laura can help a rider achieve what they need to succeed.
