Sporting passion, riding is also one of the most dangerous sports activities in the USA with nearly 70,000 accidents of all nature are registered every year. Those accidents are almost evenly spread according to age group and 66% concern women. Equestrian counts by itself 45% of head injuries all sports added in the USA, with approximately 6,000 cases. The prevention of riding accidents in the US consists in the recommendation of wearing a helmet and the fast intervention of the emergency services.IMInnov, a French start-up based near Carcassonne, launches EquiSure™: the first alert system designed for the rider and his horse, which measure the severity of a fall from the moment of the accident for a faster and more adapted intervention of the emergency services.IMInnov’s innovation: EquiSure™ elite equestrian magazine #eliteequestrian

Did you know?70,000 people are treated in emergency rooms because of equestrian related injuries accounting for an estimated 2,300 admissions annually. Head injuries account for 18% of emergency room injuries, and more than a 1/3rd of the accidents can immobilise the rider where the accident took place.Lifetime riders who report riding six or more times per year reported a 13% lifetime rate of being
hospitalized because of a riding injury. EquiSure™ is the solution: the rider and his horse become connected and can be geolocated. A unique solution that opens up a new door to safer outdoor riding experiences.

IMInnov’s innovation: EquiSure™EquiSure™ is the first alert system designed for outdoor riding and meets perfectly the needs of the rider and their horse.

An alert is sent as soon as an incident occurs. IMInnov’s innovation: EquiSure™ elite equestrian magazine #eliteequestrian

Relatives and emergency services are then contacted instantly and can intervene efficiently and effectively.

EquiSure™ also watches over their horse by allowing the rider or the relatives to track them instantly if they were to leave the location of the incident after a fall.

Much more than just an alert system, it is a vital tool to reassure the loved ones during a ride. They can follow the rider’s outing if he chooses this option and without the need for him to intervene any further.Did you know?70,000 people are treated in emergency rooms because of equestrian related injuries accounting for an estimated 2,300 admissions annually. How does it work?IMInnov’s innovation: EquiSure™ elite equestrian magazine #eliteequestrian

The rider records his / her personal data (surname, first name, telephone number of persons to be notified in the event of an accident etc.) and their horse (name, etc.) on a dedicated application. He fixes his / her beacon on their riding hat and that of the horse’s on its tack, without the need to use any kind of cable. In order to transmit the alerts, the rider must obtain a small SIM card (from the provider of their choice) and install it on the horse’s beacon.

In the event of a fall, in addition to the position of the accident obtained by geolocation, the intensity of this one is measured. The measure that determines the severity of the fall is attached to the message sent to third parties or relief so that they are informed from the moment of the accident of the severity of it and can act more appropriately in knowledge of cause.

The rider remains master of the situation whatever happens. If he is conscious and he can move, that he believes to dominate the situation, he can cancel the alert using his own device (SOS button) or his mobile phone. If it is unconscious or cannot cancel the alert, if the cancellation is not sent to the device carried by the horse it sends the alert by SMS to previously saved numbers.

After the rider and the horse have separated, EquiSure™ continues to follow the movement of the horse to find it as soon as possible. If necessary, the rider can initiate an alert voluntarily by using the SOS button placed on their beacon. The alert is then sent to the pre-registered contacts.A rider connected is a rider safeEquiSure™ is available as pre-order at the price of 299 € RRP at www.equisure.eu Delivery Early Summer 2018IMInnov’s innovation: EquiSure™ elite equestrian magazine #eliteequestrian
