The Thoroughbred Classic Horse Show Series

It is with great pleasure that we announce the formation of The Thoroughbred Classic Horse Show Series. It is through the generosity of the Siegel-CARMA Endowment that we are able to launch a series of three horse shows in 2013 dedicated to Off Track Thoroughbreds. Our first show will be held April 20-21, 2013 at the Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park in San Juan Capistrano with additional shows in July and October. The Thoroughbred Classic Horse Show Series

The Thoroughbred Classic Horse Show series is the first of its kind here on the West coast. We are all aware of how popular Thoroughbred horse shows have been on the East coast and now our West coast riders have the opportunity to compete in a breed specific show just for them. There is a strong base of riders who are passionate about the talent, athleticism and spirit of the Thoroughbreds. These shows will provide Thoroughbred owners the opportunity to gain show experience and confidence to compete as a team in a supportive environment. The goal is to provide something for everyone. The TCHS will be competitive enough that it is supported by top trainers as an avenue to transition Thoroughbreds into the “A” rated circuit and accessible enough for those satisfied or limited to showing at a lower rated show. This will be an equally exciting experience for all riders.

The Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park, a high-end and sophisticated venue, is centrally located in Southern California. The judging will be held to the highest caliber and we will devise a point system to provide year-end awards to the champions in each division. Riders will compete in classes for Hunters, Jumpers, Dressage, Combined Training, Western, Showmanship, and a couple of “Fun” classes, too.

Beyond being a Thoroughbred only show, we will seek to promote the Thoroughbred and aftercare organizations instrumental in transitioning these horses off the track. This will be an excellent arena to help the aftercare organizations gain exposure for their horses. The TCHS will work to develop relationships with racing breeders and owners to participate in and help promote the successful transition from racehorse to sport horse. And, we will educate the community on the versatility and suitability of the Thoroughbred as both a pleasure riding companion and sport horse.

We are asking for your help in promoting The Thoroughbred Classic Horse Show Series. We want to spread the word to the equestrian community through television, magazine and newspaper articles and ads. We are available for interviews and welcome you to attend the horse shows. These are one-of-a-kind horse shows that will catch the eyes and ears of the equestrian community. Won’t you come along for the ride and be part of our inaugural year?
