Wellington, FL (February 13, 2013) – Vita Flex Victory Team Members Caroline Roffman of Wellington, FL, and Patricia Stovel, of Chester Springs, PA, may compete in dramatically different disciplines, but a victory gallop by any other name still rides as sweet.

Stovel and Michelle Durpetti’s Kenya combined a pair of 86’s in the new outside course at HITS Ocala to end the $5,000 Devoucoux Hunter Prix with a total score of 177 and the win. The nine year-old Dutch warmblood gelding had belonged to Stovel prior to his sale to Durpetti, and she was asked to continue riding him. “We went early in the first round,” said Stovel, “and he jumped really well, then came back for the second round and nailed it.”

While within the white chains at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival, Roffman says America’s dressage program is working and the winning ways of her 7-year-old chestnut Hanoverian, Bon Chance (Belissimo M x Weltmeyer), are proof. Roffman, who owns and operates Lionshare Dressage with Endel Ots, and the German-bred gelding delivered a brilliant 72.794% to win the USEF Developing Horse Prix St Georges. “I’ve had him since he was three, and he really is testimony to the U.S. dressage program. He was named top Four-Year-Old American Hanoverian in 2009 and Reserve at the 2009 Young Horse Championships, Five-Year-Old Champion during the 2011 Young Horse Championships, and in 2012 he was Reserve Champion in the Six-Year-Old division. He’s come up through the ranks.”

In addition to Roffman’s win at the 2013 Adequan Global Dressage Festival, Victory Team member Lisa Wilcox and the dark bay Hanoverian stallion Pikko del Cerro HU also found themselves in the winner’s circle during the 2013 Adequan Global Dressage Festival Wellington Dressage CDI-W, where the pair dominated the $10,000 FEI Grand Prix Special with a final score of 71.583%. The pair also placed third in the highly competitive FEI Grand Prix under an international team of judges, despite stiff competition from 5* level riders and the fact that this was only Pikko Del Cerro’s 2nd Grand Prix CDI.

Wilcox had been successfully campaigning Pikko del Cerro HU (Pik L x Rohdiamant) in the small tour and recently made the move to Grand Prix. The pair won the Developing Horse Grand Prix division this past summer at the Young Horse Championships at Lamplight, and have been honing their skills in the Grand Prix for the past year. Of Pikko, Wilcox said, “He’s a very fast learner. I’ve enjoyed developing him through the Prix St. Georges, the Grand Prix, and now the international level. He just amazes me, how quick he is stepping up and catching on.” Wilcox was also awarded the Premier Equestrian Sportsmanship Award at the Global CDI-W, in recognition of her positive attitude and sportsmanship during competition.
