Alltech National Horse Show Named National Show Hunter Hall of Fame Show of the Year.
The Alltech National Horse Show, following its highly successful debut at the Kentucky Horse Park last November, has been voted as the National Show Hunter Hall of Fame 2011 Horse Show of the Year. The top honors came as a result of voting by the many members of the Hall of Fame, comprised of exhibitors, owners, trainers and riders in the equestrian industry.
This is the second major award issued to the Alltech National Horse Show.
At their annual meeting in February, the North American Riders Group’s recognized the Alltech National Horse Show as the highest rated show in the United States after it finished third in the overall rankings behind Spruce Meadows and Thunderbird in Canada.
Walter J. Lee, the President of the National Show Hunter Hall of Fame said of the Horse Show of the Year honors, “The National Horse Show’s move to the Kentucky Horse Park in 2011, the Alltech sponsorship, the management and production team and the hard work of a very dedicated show committee all combined to present an event that was obviously very popular with exhibitors and voters.”
“The National Horse Show has for generations of horsemen, offered a special event for exhibitors from all sections of the country and Canada,” Lee went on to say. The National has always been a goal for so many owners and riders to reach. I have been a champion at The National, and that has been, still is and always will be, a great achievement and something that I am very proud of and will always cherish and remember.”
“What a tremendous honor for the Alltech National Horse Show,” said Mason Phelps, Jr., the President of the National Horse Show Association. “To be recognized by the equestrians that actually competed and attended the event is something that I am very proud of and I know that Hugh Kincannon and his management team are very proud of as well.”
The Alltech National Horse Show will be inducted into the National Show Hunter Hall of Fame during the special induction ceremonies and dinner on May 29, 2012, at the Marion Cricket Club in Haverford, Pennsylvania.
