Maggie Zinck Wins Everglades Dressage Young Rider Achievement Award at her First Show of the Season

Wellington, FL (February 12, 2013) – Maggie Zinck, of New Brunswick, Canada was the proud recipient of the Everglades Dressage Young Rider Achievement Award during the Wellington Dressage CDI-W at the 2013 Adequan Global Dressage Festival. In her first show of the season aboard a 4-year-old KWPN gelding showing for the first time ever, Zinck and her mount, Esperador displayed a rare combination of a young rider successfully showing a young horse. “He’s got a lot of power, and is fun to ride,” Zinck described about the young Dutch Warmblood, “He makes it easy!”

Esperador, a 2009 gelding by Sorento (x Don Vino), is owned by international dressage rider and trainer, Denielle Gallagher. Zinck is working at Denielle Gallagher Dressage for the year as a working student. Along with Esperador, Gallagher is having Zinck ride and show another one of her horses, a 9-year-old Dutch warmblood named Wableu Le Sursaut. Zinck won a beautiful saddle pad from Everglades Farm as a part of the Young Rider Achievement Award.

The Everglades Dressage Junior/Young Rider Achievement Award is presented to up and coming young riders who excel in the show arena and go above and beyond their duty to horses and horsemanship. Everglades Dressage, owned by Bethany Peslar, is based in Grand Prix Village of Wellington, and offers dressage training for all levels of riders from Training level to Grand Prix. Peslar offers boarding for clients in training, and also allows clients to trailer in their horses for lessons. She focuses on helping riders achieve success with an emphasis on correct seat and effective aids, and her training program offers lesson horses through the FEI level.

Peslar is a USDF Gold medalist, was the 2006 Reserve Champion in the National Young Adult Grand Prix Championship “Brentina Cup” at Gladstone, and is a successful USEF High Performance Grand Prix competitor. Peslar’s impressive list of accomplishments also includes earning her USDF Gold Medal in 2003 at age 21. She is also a strong supporter of equestrian programs in the United States.
