ShowChic Hits the Road For NEDA Fall Festival, Dressage at Devon and GAIG/USDF Championships
Wellington, FL (September 7, 2012) – Michele and Doug Hundt, owners of ShowChic dressage boutique in Wellington, FL, have been busy packing up their mobile unit to take their show on the road, rock-star style, for a fall tour of dressage shows. Traveling, once again, with their famous and beloved black standard poodle, Arlo. ShowChic is excited to support the dressage community and this circuit as they have for over five years. “We travel to the northern shows to stay in touch with friends and support them,” explains Michele Hundt. “We love the northeast this time of year and the festive atmosphere of the shows. Arlo now has a fan club, especially at Devon. People stop by just to see him. And this year we are showing our appreciation with Arlo’s Gift With Purchase Program. Shoppers will receive a free gift with any purchase over $25 dollars. And while the gift with purchase program wasn’t exactly Arlo’s idea, his tail wagging when we told him about it says he thinks it’s a pretty doggoned good idea,” Hundt said with chuckle.
This year, shopping at ShowChic will be very exciting with the new fall lines from both Pikeur and Animo. “They have a great new fashion line that we are launching called Ravel,” says Hundt. “It features great style and fabric that is easy to care for and perfect for the rider to wear out to dinner.” In addition, the mobile unit will be filled with the vast selection of fine riding attire, unique fashions, and accessories for the dressage rider that everyone has come to expect from ShowChic! The travel schedule includes the New England Dressage Association (NEDA) Fall Festival and GAIG/USDF Region 8 Championships in Saugerties, NY on September 13-16, followed by the not to be missed Dressage at Devon in Devon, PA on September 25-30, and then the southward ho swing to the GAIG/USDF Region 3 Championships in Fairburn, GA on October 5-7th. “We hope everyone at the shows will stop by and visit Arlo, as well as check out our great inventory,” said Hundt, adding, “The gift with purchase is our way of saying thanks to our wonderful clients and customers.”
The ShowChic shop in Wellington will remain open during the fall tour, and they will continue to support riders and other dressage shows throughout the year in many ways. For example, ShowChic recently launched a Mentoring Program, in which three young riders act as ambassadors for ShowChic, and in turn, they are outfitted in fashion forward dressage attire. Also, ShowChic will continue to host monthly Shop Talks which are social gatherings centered on a dressage theme. Speakers have included Olympians Bent Jensen and Lars Petersen, New York Times Bestseller Tami Hoag, and the famous dressage master Walter Zettl.
