Vita Flex Gives Riders the Keys to Success at Colorado Horse Park’s Summer in the Rockies Hunter Jumper Series
As competitors, owners, trainers, and spectators at the 2017 Summer in The Rockies Hunter Jumper Series lined up to try their luck in the Vita Flex Key to Success Contest, their excitement was palpable. Each person held a golden key that had been given to them at the Colorado Horse Park show grounds by a leading equine supplement company, Vita Flex, but only one would unlock the grand prize — a custom red-and-white Vita Flex tack trunk packed full of Vita Flex® products. When Parker Colorado local Kirsten Valencia made her way to the front of the line, she was thrilled to discover that she held the winning key, unlocking the trunk to find it overflowing with Vita Flex® performance products.
For Valencia, whose daughter shows two horses, this is more than a year’s worth of supplies. In fact, the prize trunk was so large that she had to get her truck in order to take it home. “This is so, so awesome,” she said. “The presentation was wonderful, and we’re excited to try these products — I can’t wait to have glorious horses!
Vita Flex, a leading manufacturer of high quality, veterinary-developed supplements for competitive horses, shows just how fine the line between good and great can be. In addition to the Vita Flex Key to Success at Summer in the Rockies Contest, Vita Flex rewards outstanding horse-and-rider teams at the Summer in the Rockies show series with its Victory Pass Award, presented weekly to a team that crosses the line from a good to an exceptional ride to deliver a winning performance. Vita Flex Victory Pass Award winners receive a red-and-white neck sash and a bucket filled with Vita Flex® products.
Shannon Hicks of Lake Saint Louis, MO, week two winner of the Vita Flex® Victory Pass Award, was pleased to find that her bucket contained both the Master’s Hoof Blend™ and Vita-Hoof® Hoof Conditioner and Dressing in addition to the Accel® Lifetime supplement. “It all starts with the feet, so I put him on the hoof supplement immediately,” she said of bay Hanoverian gelding Cricket (Contendro x Callonia), with whom she won the 1.30 Jumper with a time of 55.645 in the jump off. “I was pleasantly surprised to find that he actually ate both of the Vita Flex supplements, as he wouldn’t eat the performance supplement I had been giving him before,” said Hicks, who will compete Cricket again at the Chicago Festival of the Horse Equifest Show Series next month. While Hicks says part of the secret to a rider’s success is confidence — “If you don’t think you can win, you can’t win!” — she hopes that her prize supplements will help all of her horses to continue pushing forward and competing on a higher level.
Brooke Cudmore of Omaha, NE, was selected for the week three Vita Flex Victory Pass Award after sailing to the win on nine-year-old Kashmir stallion Igor in The Under 25 Jumper Classic. The pair bested the class of ten entries and completed the jump-off in 36.442 seconds. Cudmore was excited to find that in addition to her $3,000 prize, she would be bringing home a new supply of supplements to try with Igor as the pair continue to advance.
Week four Vita Flex Victory Team Award winner Sydney Hutchins, who traveled all the way from southern California, is also confident that her new supplements will give her a competitive edge as she continues to show KWPN gelding Zorlando. The pair were selected for the award after capturing the blue ribbon in the Adequan 1.35 Open Jumper class. “My horse is showing at the top of his level that he can do right now, so it’s important for me to do everything I can to keep him happy, sound, and as fit as possible in order to help him compete at the next level,” Hutchins explained. “Supplements are a big part of that. We love Vita Flex and have already started using our prize supplements in preparation for our next show in Saugerties, NY.”
