ANNOUNCING THE 8^TH ANNUAL FRANKTOWN MEADOWS HUNTER DERBY

The Franktown Meadows Hunter Derby presented by Water & Rails and hosted by the MacLean Family, returns to celebrate its eighth consecutive year showcasing a weekend of Hunter excellence.

The Franktown Meadows Hunter Derby provides a one of a kind opportunity to take a step back in time and enjoy an event steeped in tradition, spectators are welcome to picnic ringside or enjoy the exceptional VIP experience. A tented promenade gives access to shopping and is home to a fabulous assortment of vendors.

Derby competition takes place on the beautiful Franktown Meadows Field, which is transformed to simulate natural obstacles found in the hunt field. Horses and riders will negotiate post and rail fences, stone walls, gates, hedges, brush jumps and logs in the attempt to lead the 2017 victory gallop. A two round event, the Classic Hunter Round followed by a Handy Hunter Round will be completed for each Derby by many of the country’s leading Derby horses and riders. It is sure to be a weekend to remember.

The celebration begins on Saturday 24^th, June at 9am with the $1,000 Welcome Stake and is followed at noon by the $10,000 Franktown Meadows 3′ Hunter Derby, the day is complete early evening with a Riders VIP Reception. The following day, Sunday 25^th, June begins at a leisurely pace with an 11am Champagne Brunch, at noon the Calcutta auction brings excitement and raises funds while spectators await the 1pm start of the $30,000 United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) International Hunter Derby sponsored by the Maclean Family with Franktown Meadows and Maclean Financial Group.

The MacLean Family, organizers, countless volunteers, judges and sponsors cannot wait to amaze you and look forward to seeing both riders and spectators at this years Franktown Meadows Hunter Derby.

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation are beneficiaries and deserving causes at this fantastic charitable event.
